Dev Diary #10 - 0.1.6 Who, When and What
Hey Everyone,
I hope your New Years is going according to plan. According to Strava, most people are likely to give up on their New Year's Resolutions by January 19th. Try not to be a statistic!
If you visited the Discord, you would see that I had made a rant about not fulfilling my own personal goal of releasing an update every 2 weeks. From my own estimation, I think I'm going to need another 10-14 days to have 0.1.6 ready for you. I used to think that Creators only put out content once a month to milk their Patrons dry. But that isn't the case at all, and I really respect the people who do this full-time.
As I'm getting much better with my renders, I've been trying to spice up the scenes a lot more. I'm attempting to move away from static backgrounds with 2D characters and moving toward a 3D look (As you can see above). It looks better, I think. Like I've mentioned a dozen times, I'm much more used to traditional Japanese Visual Novels, so I'm new to this whole 3D VN thing.
This, of course, is taking up much more of my free time than usual. Using static backgrounds was much faster than making 3D renders (especially when your computer is in dire need of an upgrade).
One last thing before we talk about what to expect this update, new images have been added to the SFW and NSFW folders. The picture of Celestia above is a sample of one of the images. Please check the rest out:
Okay, enough ranting. Let's talk about what's coming in the next update. So far, I have 4 scenes for the Main Story and 6 (possibly more, depending on time) side scenes. I'm still debating whether or not I want to allow the MC to enter XXX's room and XXX her in the middle of the night. Because I'm still contemplating this, I've removed Azula's room from the game for the time being. I've also done some improvements to several older areas/scenes/etc. As you can see above, our heroines are sleeping... Should the MC be allowed to sneak in during the middle of the night? Maybe we'll do a Patron vote and let you decide. Personally, I'm not into that kind of stuff but I know a lot of people are.
Viera's still in prison, as you can see... Can MC help her? Should he? Also, who is the woman with the blue mask? She will be a new character introduced this update. Mind you, she's not designed to be the most cutest girl in the game but she's "different" which is what I was going for when I designed her. Look forward to it. I'd say I'm 65-75% finished with what I want, right now. Hopefully, I can get this out before the month ends.

I'm gonna be 100% honest... this "sneak into the room and do x with x" is basically rape... doesn't matter what the fuck you're doing or to who. I won't blame you if some sick fucks end up voting for this kind of content, but if this content actually becomes a thing in the game I will have to drop it for good even if I don't want to.
But considering that I'm not a patron and that I didn't donate for the game, it shouldn't matter much to you so don't mind me. It's just the way I am and what I think about this kind of sick shit.
And two final things: I personally don't mind the 2D backgrounds and all that jazz (since that meant a game that is much more simple and easier to both develop and play which also meant updates more often), but I can't deny that the "market" is demanding in relation to everything in a game, especially how it looks. So it may be necessary to go on with the 3D thing for the sake of the game itself (or not). What I mean is: 2D or 3D, the game will still look good for me.
Yeah same, I'm a fucking degenerate porn addict yet all of the rape shit (or other gross stuff you can find in many games) still is just a huge turn-off. It just feels so wrong, even in "porn mood" when half my brain is turned off...
Personally i would like to be able to go into the different rooms and have fun with them. But only once you've done enough of their story for them to be ok with it so obviously not at the start of the game but maybe soon you'd be able to because you've built a relation by this point.
We'll see. Right now, it's a no-go. Probably going to do a poll for it later.
